​Lecture on Yiddish at the "Book of Generation" seminar in Kiev

On December 17, 2017 the academic director of the WJC International Yiddish Center, Dr. Mordechay Yushkovsky presented a lecture "Yiddish culture as a key part of the Jewish national spiritual treasury" in Kiev, within the framework of the "Book of Generations" project.

The lecture was provided at the recently opened new Israeli Cultural Center. Over 100 people of different ages attended the event. The inspiring lecture was accepted with great enthusiasm and interest of the audience. The listeners expressed big interest in the topic and asked for continuation of such lectures and for additional information on the subject of Yiddish culture.

Numerous questions have been asked about the current state of Yiddish culture and its role in national identity. It exposed both essential gaps of knowledge

about the Yiddish culture among contemporary Jews and their desire to bridge them.
