On January 19 - 20, 2017 the "Knafayim" (Wings) program for Jewish youth leaders from several Central-Russian regions held a seminar in the town of Khimki near Moscow.
This is a yearly event, consisting of 4 seminars. Their main goal is teaching skills of leadership alongside with Jewish traditions.
For the second year running, about 30 participants listened to the lectures of the representative of the WJC Yiddish Centre Mordehay Yushkovsky. The subjects of his lectures differed from last year, as follows: "The sacred and the daily/mundane in Yiddish culture" and "Yiddish culture as a treasury of national collective memory".
Most participants got very much interested in the presented issues. The lectures where followed by lively discussions and numerous questions.
