On April 2–4, 2017 the third and final (for this year) seminar on Yiddish culture for Israeli secondary schools teachers was held in Vilnius by the World Jewish Congress International Yiddish Center in cooperation with the teachers' trade union "Irgun Hammorim".

During those days, 40 Israeli teachers heard lectures by the WJC YC academic director Dr. Mordechay Yushkovsky and by the Hebrew University doctor candidate Ya'ad Biran. Each lecturer gave three talks.

Yushkovsky covered the following topics: "Jewish Vilna through laughter and tears", "Yiddish poetry of the Holocaust", "Literature of Jewish emigration". For Biran that was the first appearance at Vilnius seminars, which turned out to be a big success.

The program also included two study tours across the Jewish quarters of Vilnius and Jewish sites in the suburbs.

The audience got very interested and excited; some participants asked for worksheets for their future lessons.
