On May 14-16, 2018 a representative of the International Yiddish Center at the World Jewish Congress, Dr. Leonid Roitman from Israel delivered three lectures in Chișinău (Kishinev) for Jewish educators, youth club directors and volunteering coordinators of Moldova.

Thе session was organized by the local branch of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, focusing on giving the activists an opportunity to strengthen their Jewish identity and to enhance their competence in the Yiddish culture.

The subjects of Dr. Roitman lectures were: "Eretz Israel and Zionist motives in works of Sholom– Aleichem", "Brilliant life and tragic end of the Jewish King Lear - to the 70th anniversary of the murder of S. Mikhoels" and "Yiddish culture in Moldova".
