On June 15–16, 2018 the WJC YC representative Anna Sorokina-Ginzburg, who acts as Senior Jewish Educator at Hillel Russia, conducted a seminar "Pearls of Yiddish Culture" for young leadership of Jewish communities of the southern region of Russia.

The event, organized by the International Yiddish Center of the World Jewish Congress, took place in the regional capital - the city of Krasnodar.

Mrs. Sorokina-Ginzburg held two sessions there: "Using games for teaching children Yiddish" and "Jewish holidays (Purim, Chanukah, Lag ba'Omer) in Yiddish literature and folklore".

At the first session young Jewish leaders learnt about traditional Jewish games and Yiddish versions of popular children games, such as blindenish (blind man's bluff), khapeyrim (tag), baheltenish (hide-and-seek), etc.
