On March 24, 2018 the International Yiddish Center at the World Jewish Congress held a lecture-concert "Songs of our souls" for the high school teachers and for general public in Odessa, Ukraine.

The hall was overcrowded with guests, who came to listen to the WJC YC academic director Dr. Mordechay Yushkovsky's comprehensive narration of Yiddish songs.

The songs were performed by the Israeli singer Marina Yakubovich accompanied by the instrumentalists Lev Sandiuk from Moscow and Valeriy Chernes from Odessa.

The concert program was composed mainly of Odessa well-known and not so familiar songs - very specific, peculiar and vibrant ones.
