In July 14 – 16, 2016, a seminar "Pearls of Yiddish culture" for 18 teachers and general public from Israel took place in Vilnius. It was organized by WJC in cooperation with Rimon tours travel agency, with which we cooperate for the 2nd year running.

The Rimon group had announced a tour around Jewish objects in Baltic countries, and our seminar was included in its program.

The seminar was held in WJC International Yiddish center's premises at the Vilnius Jewish public library. It lasted 3 days and comprised 4 lectures presented by the academical director of the Yiddish Center, Dr. Mordehay Yushkovsky. He spoke aboutYiddish as a core element of the of Jewish civilization in Eastern Europe, about

Jewish Vilna in the mirror of Yiddish culture, about three classics of Yiddish literature (featuring similarities and differences in their works), and about Yiddish cultural activities in Vilna during the Holocaust. .
