A conference dedicated to the centenary of death of the famous Yiddish writer Mendele Moycher-Sforim took place on October 22 – 23 in Odessa, Ukraine. The event was initiated by WJC Yiddish Center in cooperation with local Jewish organisations.
On September 22, a seminar "Litvaks from the perspective of Lithuanian centenary" was provided at Užupis gymnasium in Vilnius by WJC YC representative Vytautas Toleikis
On September 25 – 27, 2017 an educational seminar for leaders of Jewish communities of 25 cities of Russia and Belarus took place in Izmailovo hotel in Moscow
On September 5, a seminar "Pearls of Yiddish Culture" for Lithuanian educators took place in Vilnius. It was organized by WJC YC and the International Commission for evaluating the crimes of Nazi and Soviet regimes
